Our very first Community Fund Gathering brought together the winners of the 2025 awards for an evening of celebration, connection and learning in the beautiful surrounds of Orlagh House.

We were delighted to celebrate the winners of 2025 Community Fund Award for a special event at Orlagh House on the 15th of January. This was a wonderful gathering of independent booksellers from around the country, sharing thoughts, ideas and the day-to-day challenges of being a bookseller in Ireland. Booksellers are at the heart of their communities, providing a safe and welcoming space for locals and visitors alike. By hosting events and creating cultural spaces, these stores foster connection, actively countering loneliness and promoting inclusivity.
We hope that more and more people will discover the magic of independent bookshops and the vital role they each play in their counties and towns and would encourage anyone to consider visiting one of these wonderful stores. You may just find exactly what you’re looking for!
